-The American Way 10/10/1939. Includes Richard Decker's The Noggin Nodder. Also a newspaper clipping of the shows running that week/upcoming. As well as W.A. Rogers Political Cartoon (in playbill) re McKinley in 1896.
Also in this auction is a RARE Program Insert with art by So Hirschfeld of Beatrice Lilly from Set To Music. On the reverse is information for the play. Background is white and print is blue. This originally ran in papers and I confirmed with his estate that this is indeed his work. Notice how his name is misspelled but that would be by whomever did this ad because his signature before this was printed for inserts is correct. Truly wonderful treasure to find in one of the playbills here.
Most of these are in pristine condition with only some discoloration on the back and on one or two it looks like the original owner made a small note or two in upper margin to herself to mark occasion of seeing shows. It doesn't take away from the condition of the playbills nor artwork in them. I love the old ads as well. These are in amazing condition. Let me know if you have any questions. Don't forget to check out my other auctions. Thank you.
